Shade Street Take a walk with me down Shade Street where our features blend into nothingness and all that can be seen is our silhouettes where the reality of who we are is hidden and we can act out our fantasies in the dark no commitments to be had what you ask for is what you get We can even hold hands like lovers and touch each others bodies as long as we're naked clothes give away too much but we can touch souls and if by chance we lose touch then don't worry there are other silhouettes in the dark and my shape will always be there to fill in the holes somebody out there is shining a spotlight trying to expose us as we're caught in the glare eyes in the headlights pinned to the pavement waiting for the killing shot and we don't even care Let's flee to the darkness Let's escape to Shade Street We're moths drawn to the flame not knowing that fire burns us even as it closes the wound while others race for the light believing that it may show colors we run away for fear of being blinded but maybe one day we'll be afraid of the dark and I'll light a candle and show you my face Take a walk with me down Shade Street you can see all of the people that live there in dark houses that have no colors and everything is plain we're scared of each other and don't know where to begin but if we can walk together long enough then let's not live on Shade Street maybe we can walk into the light again |

We're moths drawn to the flame not knowing that fire burns us even as it closes the wound while others race for the light believing that it may show colors we run away for fear of being blinded but maybe one day we'll be afraid of the dark and I'll light a candle and show you my face really liked these lines... enjoyed the poem |

I would say that it's time to move away from here. . . great job. . . I got a lot from this. . . a lot of lost feelings and things that you've been holding on to. . . .well done. . . ------------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Jeff, this is a new, improved version of what you had before. The changes give this poem more of an 'edge'. I like it! |

This was an excellent poem but you know what I think, take your flashlight and go find her again, too many coincidences my young friend. If you have but one true friend when you die you were truly blessed. |

Came back for seconds I loved this part the most, as it is so full of hope. We're moths drawn to the flame not knowing that fire burns us even as it closes the wound while others race for the light believing that it may show colors we run away for fear of being blinded but maybe one day we'll be afraid of the dark and I'll light a candle and show you my face |
