I was Jo; I am Jo She fit me and I fit the time Marmee loved me, and I my three sisters, Meg, Beth and Amy… Laurie of course my bosom friend our relationship knew no gender most of the time Yes, I was Jo the tomboy of me was capricious and light, the words of me carried heavy my heart, I so desired to share them So full she made me, vigor of life and high of hope I was Jo she traded places with me during that summer when I first read of escapades, the book so old, pages so dear, caressed were they by my tomboy's rough hands, softly.. I was Jo and she resided in my heart and in my mind so much so that I lived in the next book as well, met my German-bred mate for life, and understood him directly, albeit he was dark and forbidding, for he spoke to me and I to him because I was Jo I lived on whim and a little fancy and Laurie he would call me a dreamer and I was I was Jo I still am for the German man looks at me darkly and what I miss is the innocence in Jo's knowledge of making him pleased with me he cares not that I write like Jo he cares not and bears about in his bearish way as I am Jo in my way as words of me carry heavy my heart, so do I wish to share them Yes, I am Jo of now the tomboy of me knows that the Jo of then went through this too, somewhat Marmee is not here to hold me and say "it is all right, to be this way," yes, I am Jo, today quote: Little Women Louisa May Alcott |
