Surrounded by darkness I see a light It is close yet so far away All of my life has it shined before me Guiding me day by day Brighter it shone with each passing year Never before has it been so clear Inside it a figure with arms outstretched All my hopes and mt dreams she will share Is it an angel guarding my soul Soothing my pains and my fear Is it a ghost of my overworked mind Once touched will she disappear Questions abound and answers are few This struggle has taken its toll I stagger and fall yet forward I crawl Bent, not broken, attaining my goal I slowly look up, before me she stands My heart and my soul are set free My goddess of love my life starts anew As your arms gently wrap around me Steven Seaman |
