As Vesuvius Grows Virginia Salter a bubble of rage at its very core building billowing heating reddening to toreador swelling stretching seeking release fissures of weakened skin pores for vent cracks in the crust inviting deliverance finding none no valve of safe expel blister simmers bloating filling every cubic measure to the full expanding exerting pressure from within strengthening intensifying weakening its captor its shell until no recourse is there but to bare its pain its stress its agony to all Vesuvius expels in the search for calm laying waste to its surroundings coating all in its wake with all from within that had fed the din of release leaving its mark on all that it’s touched evidence of travail in the trail of tears that flow in rills of agony © August 13, 2001 [This message has been edited by VAS (edited 08-14-2001).] |

Even if the mountain is remote, it's ashes darken the sky and deny light to all earth, but it would have to be an important geological entity. Thanks for the seismograph. "Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to decieve" |

nicely painted images VAS.... good read... just saw your question about the Acrostic.. heck why would I have aproblem with it??? took me a while to find it..I've been out of town for a week and missed many fine poems I am sure.... Nicely done..and quite a clever way of doing the alphabet backwards... |
