The grass is growing Danny boy mowed down yard after yard His shinny six horsepower six-speed mower cut piles of sod He mowed like he was in a race a race with himself His neighbor leaned over the fence and said “ It’s not how fast you cut through life that makes you a winner, Did you ever make your own trail? Did you deviate from the coarse that was lain down when you were young? Remember, first impressions last the longest” Round and round you mow the grass Each pass is a copy of the one before Making the same mistakes Your heart keeps score Round off those corners straighten those lines You’ll get a good clean cut in half the time Change is the key to success You can change your mower You can change your life But it is still you who must run the race It will be difficult at times But remember, the grass continues to grow Because this race is never won We just get to rest at times along the way Throw your heart out in front of you |

yes, that grass continues to grow and I even have a cornfield in back of my house! There's no getting around it! I got a lot out of this. Made me think of the old sod. sorry, couldn't resist that " I walked beside the evening sea And dreamed a dream that could not be" George William Curtis" |
