Realities made me think of you today... Ambrosia so strong that spoken words can't relay An atmosphere of memory carressing my mind Euphoria suspended in a second of time I felt your presence In the air... It's just as though You were standing right there... Gardens of elation blooming flowers of love Aromatic rapture sent from somewhere above... Sentiments of sadness grow with fading delight As I realize that you are nowhere in sight... Vanished from my life like a fragrant breeze -- Yours for the moment; but never to sieze... Thank you, Sunshine -- the scent of "Realities" is ALWAYS a goodie! JM: thank you very much for your kind words. Inspiration comes from many sources, and nothing triggers memories faster than the perfume a loved one wore... Sue, thank you... some realities are better than others... -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |

Who was it that said "Reality Bites"? This is a beautiful poem, and its sad when reality has to hit us in the face, when the memories are so nice. Sandra |

Sandra, sometimes it seems that Reality bites off more than we can chew... but I guess that's why we're human and have these things called feelings -- so that we can truly understand the essence of things... -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |

Mark; love the "ambrosia" a favorite word of mine. I thought "you were standing right there" was long...is the word "right" needed to express the emotion? peace love and understanding...wpwpoet |

A very sweet scented reverie. Some people mark your senses forever. I think it's okay to hold on to that which made them so potent to you. Because the reality is...it will always mean something to you. Even if life goes on. Wonderful verse! Sincerely, Regina What lies behind us and what lies before us |

wpwpoet: thanks for your response. Actually, the word "right" is very important because not only does it add to the flow of the melody for this song but it also serves to stress the immediacy of the sensation as if she indeed was standing RIGHT THERE -- in front of me/beside me rather than simply just standing... Thanks for the read and opinion though, and I love the word "ambrosia" too. MEM: thank you very much. What you're hearing is the acoustic guitar accompanying the vocal melody, with some synth pads filling the backdrop. Thanks for reading. Thank you, Virginia -- I tried to do the impossible of capturing the scent of my favorite perfume onto the screen/paper with adjectives... Sy: thank you. Ariana, thank you for the read and reply. You are right -- certain memories are very "scentsitive"... Regina, thank you so much... I believe you speak wisely -- it's the good memories which contribute to our essence and joy. -MVS "When you tell the Truth, you never have to remember what you just said." |
