I have lost my splendor though I know it curled around me just last night and caught me in a dream delight was the title that tossed me about on my pillow my hair a dark mask across my pale I woke within its dwelling holding still the capture of it winding it with pieces of colored laughter and sealing it with a song the tune was so clear with violin searing across the open space that blinked into the ceiling that I was sure I could play the shuttered instrument that dust covers under the bed I have lost my splendor though I remember how it felt the sea green crash of it around my legs the taste of the salty human it held and I know a fragrance of recall waits around the corner out in the go-beyond with the new mown grass past the rain |

I beg to disagree, Martie. You haven't lost even an ounce of your splendor! You must not be seeing the same person that the rest of us are seeing. In fact, I think you are bordering on spectacular! Beautiful poem! |

-You are all so sweet..now I feel like I was asking for you to tell me I hadn't lost it...when what I was trying to say was that I just have been feeling depleted of excitement of something...sheesh, must be the heat. |

I've been feeling like that lately too, Martie. I guess it's just a part of the cycle of life. Sometimes you feel fulfilled, on top of the world, sometimes you feel bored, sometimes restless, sometimes you feel lower than dirt, most of the time you hover somewhere in between the top and the bottom. Go see a good movie, go shopping, visit a friend. Most importantly, stay out of this heat!! Whatever you do, don't stop writing!! |

I am speechless, the words here are so vividly real and well, they are open and honest. Martie, you have gained much! Not lost..gained! " I walked beside the evening sea And dreamed a dream that could not be" George William Curtis" |

This is so pretty. Your imagery is quite remarkably done. *If the shoe fits ... the castle is yours* |

Ahh, Martie, it is just out there, there where that rainbow is striking the ground. For only the rainbow could be as beautiful as your words...very gentle smile |

every now and then, do we not lose the excitement of childish wonder, all too often, perhaps...one thing wonderful about being a writer, we learn to look at things more deeply and can regain that childish excitement/wonder as we ponder the magnificence of God's luscious creation and marvel at how wonderfully it works, when we don't mess with it unnecessarily you have not lost any splendor, Martie, maybe just lie down in the grass, uh-hum, in the shade, and seek the realm of the flora and fauna with seeking eyes, and as delicate as dragonfly wings, surely your wonder will return...yet your words have far from left you...you still know how to sprinkle them on the page to season your writing toward perfection |
