Love On The Incoming Tide

The cool salty water gently laps at our bare feet
as they sink slowly into the wet sand
Your arm around my waist
drawing my body closer to you
as I brush my warm thighs against yours

On this balmy Summer evening
we stand together ever so closely
You take hold of my chin
as you turn my head to face you
One look into your eyes
and my heart just melts

My soul leaves my body
to engage iteself with yours
Your lips encase mine
as you kiss me so deeply
and ever so passionately

I return your warm kiss
as our desires are heightened
by this moment in time
and by the setting of the sun
The last of the gulls takes flight
as the remains of the day
have all but faded from view

Very soon our love will be bathed in moonlight
as you'll lay me down on the sand
But for now these two star-crossed lovers
will remain together hand in hand
