oh my, was this ever hard to do my dear Mysteria. You challenged me to write a poem for this picture and I have accepted it. **Pauses to wipe the sweat from my brow.** ![]() The Seduction Of Darkness He wanted my attention ... and I gave it. He wanted my body ... and it was his. He wanted my love ... and I never questioned He wanted my soul ... and it was too late to fight Now, you see me as he left me--ice in my veins, a coldness in my eyes and the only warmth of blood’s flow that I will ever know, is as it runs the length of my chin after feasting. You judge me by the paleness of my skin, and the sharpness of my bite, but I am a woman still. I have needs and grow weary of the aura that surrounds me and the heavy crown of darkness I am burdened with. Yes, I am a woman and within this bosom echoes the sounds of a heart long destroyed and I can hear its memory with every taunting beat. Come closer ... listen ... can you hear it? No? Come closer ... let me wrap my arms around you and remember what it feels like to be of flesh that can moisten from passion once more. Wipe the imagined tears that I cannot shed from my face, and tell me you see the fragileness none others can see within this shell. Love me, if you will, let that be my salvation. And forgive me, as I rain my kisses of gratefulness upon your neck. |

Mysteria I think we were too quick to call the winner on this little game, seems we have more poets joining us. yippee! Dying to see what everyone sees when they gaze at her dark eyes and how they can get it across in words. |

nicely met... and well told indeed... this too I enjoyed another version perhaps for those who prefer rhyme.. No beauty but the cold And hunger for the taste Lives in this form of old Silent stalking eyes behold The merely mortal man Wishing in lust to fold Them into her again No beauty but the cold And a hunger never sated Makes this one bold Enticing body swaying In dance of promised lust Lures them into staying Forgetting not to trust Wishes should be made with care Lest you find they do come true And caught within her lair This fate also befalls you No beauty but the cold [This message has been edited by Cpat Hair (edited 07-31-2001).] |
