Hoofbeats racing, eyes of fire, the stallion gathers speed... a heart of thunder beats within his breast... He carries through the darkest land, a Knight of gallant breed... well known to rescue damsels in distress... The Knight is called Sir Galahad, a man, but something more... a legend come to life when duty calls... With blade in hand, on stallion’s back, he settles every score... Each battle won, as dragons ‘round him fall... And warrior though the Knight may be, he’s known both near and far, for other traits that ladies all admire... His gentle ways show strength within, a true and loving heart... A man whose very touch creates desire... For every lady rescued, from the dragon’s cruel embrace, has fallen prey to charms within the Knight... And powerless to keep control, her will is out of place... And offers up herself, without a fight... Sir Galahad, the honored Knight, became a legend bold... And down through time he’s ridden on his steed... To stay within the damsel’s hearts, as in the days of old... And set a lasting rule for acts and deeds... And though the horse is motorized, and armour is no more... the Knights of yesteryear do still abound... And ladies still have dragons which need slaying by the score... While hoping a true Knight will soon be found... Sir Galahad is riding strong, and if you look, you’ll see, a myriad of Knights within your gaze... With words as true as tempered steel, they’ll set your spirit free... Sir Galahad’s alive in modern days! The road goes on forever, and the stories never end... |

As long as there are fair maidens I suppose there will be knights to rescue and romance them...James |

I really like this kind of poem. Makes one think that maybe chivalry isn't dead after all. ShannonM |

Sunny, you must know where to look, LOL. I haven't met this gentleman yet. Teasing, this is a fine poem, and it does indeed give hope that there is such a good and brave man in the world. Even if I never do meet him.. Seems like many of us here on other times themes. I wonder if that signifies something special. Write on, glad to see you here. Sandra |

Sunny I haven't met Sir Galahad either - I wonder where he is? Should I look for one on a horse or one in a little convertible. Great writing - keep them coming. |

Sunny, You have captured the ultimate fairytale. I too, believe that there are still "Galahads" to beget in this everchanging world, that are not condusive to the Princes of days gone by. They are out there, we have to never stop believing. Thank you for showing us all that chivalry, and "slaying of dragons" is not a completely lost art. I hope you find your Prince. And when you do, ask him if he has a brother! Elise |
