Watching over you Not allowed in your group Not allowed to do as you do. Shunned by your friends not friends And thus shunned by you I’ll stand in the shadows And just watch over you. When those ‘friends’ pass you by I’ll be waiting here Watching from the shadows With an always open ear. I’ll stand in the shadows Watching over you Not allowed in your posse Not allowed to help you. ------------------- A friend of mine has recently been accepted by a popular mass of groupies. This is just to let her know that I know she doesn't mean what she said, and that I'll be here waiting. -Kosetsu "Love, like the Rose is desired. And like the Rose, Love has its thorns." - Unknown |

This is a good poem. Its good to hear that you will be there for your friend no matter what. Great job! I need more time to find the real me... |

Groupies huh? Sucks, but hey you know that they'll come back sooner or later. All the stanzas were great, keep it up. /Nick/ |

It's always hard to be shut out of a group that you want to be in. It's their loss, though! I ususally feel sorry for those people, because they are the ones missing out on the friendships. Great piece, thanks for sharing. ![]() "Men judge generally more by the eye than by the hand, for everyone can see and few can feel."-Machiavelli |

I really don't care about being in their 'in' group. But my friend does, and when she became accepted, normal highschool outcasts like myself are no longer worth the time, according to their rules. -Kosetsu "Love, like the Rose, is desired. And like the Rose, Love has its thorns." - Unknown |

I liked this. Trust me, Sooner or later she'll realize that the popular kids aren't that great to be around. I liked how you said you'd watch over her...That was nice. |

It's funny how useless popularity is and how people lose friends over such a pittiful thing. Anyhow, yer roughing it out and taking it well. Keep that head up.....hope she comes to her senses. ![]() I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |

Ditto to Dopes. Popularity is definitely something society could do without. Cliques are the worst. They can really make you feel like nothing if you let them... I really liked the message to this poem. It's great to see you taking the situation in such a mature way. Popularity has a way with people... it can really change them... for the worst in most cases. It's got to be hard to sit back and watch what's happening... but stay strong ![]() Awesome work on the poem... very open and honest. Well written. I enjoyed it. --Marie You think yourself a failure, but perhaps the biggest loss is winning. |
