Where were you when the sky was falling, hailing fire-stones upon my world? breaking down the walls I'd built, burning flags that once unfirled. Where were you when my fortress collapsed, shattering every brick I'd layed? capturing the heart I'd been so careful with, plundering the love I'd saved? Where were you when the clouds turned black, and rained the tears that fill my eyes? the thunder echoed, shook my ground and lightning split the skies. Where were you when my life was ruined, broken before I lived it out? now I have no tomorrow to hope for, tomorrow is just another doubt. "I know what you're thinking about," said Tweedledum; "but it isn't so, nohow." |

Alice this poem saddens me. You can relate this poem to many areas of the world. For example, where was (is) the United States when all those people out there are starving and suffering. Granted, we are helping here and there somewhat, but I feel we could be doing so much more. This is a poem that explains misallocation. The need for backup when there isn't any. Indeed, this poem saddens me, as its words ring true for many hearts around the world. heres some lyrics from Face to Face i dunno why im putting them here, but your work kind of reminded me of it I let the past control my life, It brings me to my knees and I cannot hide, I cannot lie... So many words to say and noone to hear, Why did you go away? I needed you more today than i ever did, You lied to me. Life is a lonely journey to, and a heavy-hearted departure from three words. I LOVE YOU |

I disagree--- Why should the US be out helping other countries when we don't even help ourselves...we've got alot of children without parents and homes, people starving in the strees...Granted, we are an awesome country for helping others..but I think we need to focus on our people. The people that do the work to keep our country running. The people that make us great. --Jules ps.
