promises of christmas presents
in August
you're telling me
you'll get me something cool
and I feel
like your obligation.

Talking to you on the phone
you promise to get in the shower
in five minutes
you're telling me
you'd like to spend time with me
and all the time I feel
like your obligation.

You tell me to trust you
but
what made you change your mind?
I'm your afterschool hobby.
Why waste your time
if I'm just an obligation.

Hey,

I know your excited to be here and all but did you have to kick down our double doors with this entrance

I like this poem alot

Its a unique way to look at someone who isnt fully into a relationship anymore

This was really sad, but I could relate well. It's tough when you feel like somebody is only being "friends" with you because they feel as if they're obligated to. You wrote this very well.
