Why do bad things happen to good people Why do only the good die young Why does God take them away from me Why are 3 young lives done They were said to go to heaven But he was unlucky enough to live There were two other souls in that car last night Whose parents may never forgive Why does the person responsible always live, to blame himself in the end And then three lives are lost to accidents 2 from death, and one from sin Why do bad things happen to good people Why do only the good die young Why does God take them away from me Why are 3 young lives done Why do I have to be the witness to thousands of tears shed Why do I have to look into haunted faces And listen to whispers said He was drunk, he was speeding, he was careless But he's sorry can't you see Look at the broken man he has become before judging what he used to be He took the life of his friends last night and he took the life of his whole town NOw his world will never be same as yesterday Hes on an endless spiral down Why do bad things happen to good people Why do only the good die young Why does God take them away from me Why are 3 young lives done This happened in my town recently, everyone greived for two lost lives, and blamed the survivor, but this kid will never be the same again, and if it was me I would rather die than be responsible for the deaths of 2 of my best friends....I dont know these kids, but I know that its been tough on everyone, and they should always look at all sides. Exeryone makes mistake, learn from them and move on, because tomorrow we'll make more... |

This poem is great! Why do bad things happen to good people? It's something that always happens, sadly. It's as if the universe wishes to test them, to find the chinks in their armour. It's always a tragedy when this happens. I am truely sorry, not for those who have died, but for those who must carry on. |

What a tragic event. You've written about it well. It is a shame that the town cannot have the same feelings towards it. Maybe you can do your little bit and when people start to talk about it, defend the guy. I'm sure it would make him a very happy person to know that someone out there is on his side.
