Hey, I went through one of my old posts and made it all fit! I give you the new and improved version ------------------------------ The Dusty Road Skips along a dusty dirt road, Bring footsteps and memories Back and forth to my mindful load. Was I alone among the clapping birds And the sandy dying trees? Someone has a house on this road A little farther past sullen horizon. It must be somewhere on this road, Painted the same earthen dusty color, Hidden deep behind the current liason I see myself with a bird's eye. I can find this man staring back Into dust, straight through to the sky. Are there any thoughts given for him In my shredded soulful sack? I am crossing paths with many a border, Painted fences travelling soft beside me But no conversation is in order. They tell me with rots and molds The dusty road is a better place to be. The man's home can sleep for the times I pause (I feel rushed now by a sudden breeze) My girl's home can sleep for the times I pause (To brush away the dust from my sleeves) "The dust of the travelled road shall touch my hands and face" |

*claps* YAY SEAN!!! ^_^ *doesn't remember seeing this one before, but still enjoyed it muchly* ^_^; Revised or not, you're a great poet. What I really like about your poems is that they're always so down to earth and sensible. You pick up things no one would ever think of, yet they're possible to perceive, which is very admirable. Keep up the great work! ^_^ ++ Leah ++ ps- Nice pic. ^_^ Finally. o_O; Va pensiero sull' ali dorate... [This message has been edited by chasing rain (01-05-2002 05:09 PM).] |
