Late at night I think of you
Of how you died I ask people how you died
They tell me how you looked and had tons of people beside you

I thought you came home that night
For Christmas but you never did
I will never forget that day

You treated me differently
You treated me without a disability
Just a teen

That’s why I loved you
I sometimes think where are you in heaven
Do you hear and see me during the day?

My heart is still recovering from another kind of heartbreak
I love you dad a lot
I’ll see you someday in heaven with angels

Angels that have a white dress
Dancing all around us
Then we will be a complete family again

I've read these poems from you since I joined and they are always equally sad and touching at the same time. Hope all is well.

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

Minna, this poem was so touching. I was thinking you were talking about a friend, or cousin. Not your dad.. *hugs* I really liked this poem. It was so sad, and filled with emotion. Very nice work. Keep sharing all your work with us

I too am sure that your Dad is looking down on you every chance he gets. He is probably very proud of this poem because it is excellent, full of emotion! I really enjoyed the read. Keep writing!!

This was a beautiful poem. I am sorry for your loss, but it seems that you are dealing with it. I too believed that you were talking of a close friend or something. It is great that you had such a wonderful relationship.
