Sleep Walking In time spent alone, I admit - meeting you saved me. I don’t know how long I dwelled in that numb space, I have few surviving memories, swimming with my children in a pool tucked into a mountain; eating Boston Baked Beans candy on the drive home, an enchanted road winding up and over cool hills, through patches of light let by lacy boughs of Redwoods and Pines, and a scent, vanilla. The rest of those years, four in all, are gone. If I were imaginative, I could say a Voodoo spell of walking sleep had been cast, as though I had wronged some ancient witch, and with a blink of an evil eye, was sent spiraling into nowhere. For your patience and offerings of peace, I love you. © 2001 Corinne Bailey |

Sometimes a walking sleep lets us insulate ourselves until we can look at happenings with an soul that is at peace, Cor, but I am happy that one was there...gentle smile and a hug to you, my dear friend |

Wow Corinne these lines in these verses are so explicit emotionally describing a shut out.......... "I don’t know how long I dwelled in that numb space, I have few surviving memories, swimming with my children in a pool tucked into a mountain; eating Boston Baked Beans candy on the drive home, an enchanted road winding up and over cool hills, through patches of light let by lacy boughs of Redwoods and Pines, and a scent, vanilla." "If I were imaginative, I could say a Voodoo spell of walking sleep had been cast, as though I had wronged some ancient witch, and with a blink of an evil eye, was sent spiraling into nowhere." This is exceptional writing! I appreciate the background that could inspire such a write!! |

You write the past well. And in doing so know the ability you posses to see and feel. Your skill and knowledge has made this a so very open pleasing poem to read. You bring the past to present in such quality words. My thanks for your sharing, all within. |

Wow, thank you for sharing these inner ponders. Written with elegance and ease. "difference between love and comfortis that comfort's more reliable and true |
