"Death’s Song" Warriors wait for morning’s first light Both sides straining, ready to fight Death will be the victor, he wins the day He doesn’t pick sides in any war play He doesn’t care, who was right or wrong He harvests souls while playing his song The clopping of hoof, and the marching of feet All keeping step with death song’s beat With the clash of iron and the ring of steel Death comes to collect his meal Weary warriors beg angels aide While dancing their swords to death's serenade Wounded warriors pray release from pain And reap the relief his song will gain With the slash of sword, or the sting of bow The fighters fall to his song’s blow And when the battle wanes, and there’s silence in the keep His song’s replaced by the widow’s weep.
