 Into the Dapple Into the dapple where the sky is green and the sun slivered we go, you and I to reach around the trunk of years, hand over hand around and around lost to the hide of other falling into giggles of girlhood enchanted by being. Oh to look at you, all freckled of leaf's spots, brilliants of light flickering into halos off wisps of hair playing seek with your eyes which wrinkle warm into my heart, so enchanted by being! And you lay back your laugh into the delicate fern and dig your fingers into the dark earth until there is no sound but the river that your mind has made across prairies of wheat. I close my eyes and see that distance is only an illusion for didn't we just dance in a rush around, my squeaky chair gone and sparkle showing? and weren't you the one who, in a moment of time ago, whispered only loudly enough that the pines soughed bringing back to me that prickly fragrance of ever-so-green which once again greened my memory of the us that never was. So we skip rocks in the pools made in the river by the falling of giant time, and in the riffle hear a song that gives birth to freedom to soar backwards in a summersault that hearts make. As the quietude takes over, we come about in the blend of water and wash breath and breeze, dirt and dust sun, and sparkle... a memory left in dappled light. ________________ This was a duet... Love the juxtaposition of the Wheatfields and the ferns in the forests of the giant redwoods (in my mind's eye). Duet more often  Live for love. Without love, you don't live. |
