It was an early evening full moon and the sky was burning up and the sunset fell away at last when the big globe had enough. And the last light spilled like whiskey across the rooftop of the world and tried to fight the coming night by shining on the purple swirls. And it was heavens above ignited firey fingers spread abound and I really felt excited as I stopped and looked around. So I sat down on the silver sand and listened to the sounds of the waves rolling in and out washing little toys aground. And the air was fresh and clean and I sure was feeling good on the silver sand in another land where a man can eclipse his mood. And as I sat there watching the moonlit ocean and the sky I felt the sea winds rush in and I was glad to be alive. My heart could feel no finer beyond my lonely side when a distant voice came to me with words about the night and when I looked up at her she stepped back in the light I could see that she was beautiful in her mellow years of life. I thought she looked quite lonely so I smiled to look alive I said I was lost in peace would she care to spend some time. With uncertain moves she sat down and I looked into her eyes and they were bright like beacons sending warnings to my mind and I felt my heartbeat storming while I struggled with the time. She said, "if you want someone to talk to I can spend some time I know all about moonlit nights and dreams that never die and people never run out of dreams they just run out of time. She talked until a tear appeared so I gave her story some room and she spoke her sorrows on the night to release her from some gloom. She said she'd left the worst part back somewhere in the dark and as the truth flowed from her I almost came apart. The moonlight shone down on her as she twisted her feet in the sand it was a kind of time so lonely that I held her trembling hand. I just could not believe it or imagine how she could feel and while I tried to comfort her she seemed so earthly real. Somehow she was in my arms so swiftly her fears swelling from the heart and she wept just like a baby feeling safe there from harm. I wanted to take care fo her so she'd feel understood so I took her back to my place where I could lighten up her mood. She laid back and her eyelids sagged until her tears were gone she said that she felt better and that she'd soon be moving on. Well she felt weightless with no past drag when her long fingers stroked my sides and when we kissed her breath was wet and she let out a thousand sighs. As she lay there calm and beautiful I knew she'd been too kind and the only pain she'd ever feel is when she went back in her mind. She said, "If you want someone to talk to I can spend some time, I know all about moonlit nights and dreams that never die, and people don't run out of dreams they just run out of time." This is a repost for an old poet friend!! The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up |

Fascinating story filled with romance and mystery. With many remarkable lines. "The past my prison, confined in solitary voiceless penance." |

Oh, this line... "people don't run out of dreams, they just run out of time..." It sent chills up my spine with it's intensity! What a fantastic piece of writing! Now I know why I am such a fan of your work..... The road goes on forever, and the stories never end... |

YES!!!!!! (doing a happy dance) Finally =========================== It was an early evening full moon and the sky was burning up and the sunset fell away at last when the big globe had enough. And the last light spilled like whiskey across the rooftop of the world and tried to fight the coming night by shining on the purple swirls. And it was heavens above ignited firey fingers spread abound and I really felt excited as I stopped and looked around. So I sat down on the silver sand and listened to the sounds ====================================== on the silver sand in another land where a man can eclipse his mood. And as I sat there watching the moonlit ocean and the sky I felt the sea winds rush in and I was glad to be alive. =========================== With uncertain moves she sat down and I looked into her eyes and they were bright like beacons sending warnings to my mind and I felt my heartbeat storming while I struggled with the time. =========================== I wanted to take care fo her so she'd feel understood so I took her back to my place where I could lighten up her mood. She laid back and her eyelids sagged until her tears were gone she said that she felt better and that she'd soon be moving on. She said, "If you want someone to talk to I can spend some time, I know all about moonlit nights and dreams that never die, and people don't run out of dreams they just run out of time." ======================== Oh E-babes...how I love this amazing poem... it never loses its impact of heart and soul... I had to smile as Watersigns reply... it reminded me of my first read of this... There is so much here to inhale... the imagery of the first verse alone... and the melodic cadence that you lay down with such style.. but its the emotions that just sweep the reader in this.. the anticpation, the longing, the sadness, the compassion, and the soul and spirit of the moment in time shared between these two. This is such a cool poem Eric...and such an impressive level of inspire. Thank you for the chance to inhale and worship it again. This is indeed a special poem. jm I'm hanging on your every word |

I forgot something last time When That Evening Sun Goes Down Van Morrison I want you, be around When that evening sun goes down I want you, be around Keep my both feet on the ground When that evening sun goes down I want you, understand Little girl, take me by my hand I want you, understand I wanna be your loving man When that evening sun goes down If it's nice, we'll go for a walk, a stroll in the clear moonlight Singing a song, won't take long Everything gonna be alright And I wanna hold you oh so near Keep you, darling from all fear I wanna hold you oh so near Nibble on your little ear When that evening sun goes down If it's nice, go for a walk, stroll in the clear moonlight Sing you a song, won't take long Everything gonna be alright And I wanna hold you oh so near Keep you, darling from all fear I wanna hold you oh so near Nibble on your little ear When that evening sun goes down When that evening sun goes down When that evening sun goes down... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Flamingoes Fly Van the Man Lie by my side in the still of the night And morning brings forth all it's wondrous delight You couldn't have made it more plain When I hear that soft refrain And I hear you gently sigh I wanna take you where flamingoes fly, flamingoes fly Way over yonder in the clear blue sky That's where flamingoes fly Lie in the dark with the sweet sound of the nightingale And listen for lark, and I will tell you a tale Soft winds blowin', blowin' outside I wanna take that moonlight ride When I hear you gently sigh I wanna take you where flamingoes fly, flamingoes fly Way over yonder, yeah in the clear blue sky That's where flamingoes fly Silently waiting for that morning light to shine Yeah, and I'm looking at you, looking at me And I'm looking at you And anticipating Each and every, each and every sign And I'm looking at you, looking at me And I'm looking at you, looking at me Looking at you, looking at me, looking at you I follow the road that will take me, take me back home And carry that load where the deer and the provincial angels roam Happiness touches me now Who knows where it came from and how, but When I hear you gently sigh I wanna, wanna take you where flamingoes fly, flamingoes fly Way over yonder in the clear blue sky That's where flamingoes fly, flamingoes fly Way over yonder in the clear blue sky That's where flamingoes fly You see those flamingoes fly Ya see those, ya see those, ya see those Ya see those, ya see those, ya see those flamingoes fly Look over yonder, look over yonder, darling Look over yonder, darling Ya take it by the ocean, ya take it, ya take it by the ocean Mmm uhhh, take it by the ocean I'm hanging on your every word |

Ethome~ A beautiful write that speaks to the heart, the imagery in it is enough to gain the praise of anyone but woven with the heart you wear lovingly on your sleeve...well there is just nothing that can compare to that. Awesome writing...but that doesn't say nearly enough~ |

Okay, that's it! *G* You're "out of time"... I want a CD and I want it now! *S* Your poems create a melody all their own... and need a better voice than mine to sing the lyrics! *S* This is superb, ethome... "and as the truth flowed from her I almost came apart" pretty much describes my reading the truths you wrote. *S* |

Dear Ethome, THank you for reposting this wonderful piece. I was sorry when it came to an end. I could have read on and on. It certainly does display your writing talents. THis is lovely and I also got goosebumps at the repeated lines in the middle and end - very effective and well understood by any dreamer. Your description of twilight is a memerable one, so vivid I could feel the movement of light and color. Excellent, my friend. Thanks for the wonderful read Lzi |
