Sleeping Bear summers of youth spent fishing in the sun, collecting wild berries, wild beauty, and woodticks adventures in the forest, in the north, then in the west always entranced ever awake and then the coming darkness i dug a den for many years --a place to find some rest-- winter rolled around somehow, i said goodbye to sunshine nestled down one day, deep within my den i slept through cold dark winters, i slept for three years solid. a sleeping bear won't wake 'till spring, nothing stirs its slumber-- the bear grows weak and deathly cold reduced to skin and heavy bones-- it rests in quiet unawares and sleeps among its **** wake up, you say, it's spring again, i awaken to your pleas you've roused me from my den and now a dangerous bear stalks your world crippled by sleep and three years lost |

I dare say i love this bluestem. You write a vivid picture my friend. I like that i could still feel your stlye even though this was longer and told more of a story. One's not half two it's two are halves of one EE Cummings |
