Near and the Far In the far of the near…and the near of the far I wander in wonder…my moment’s hurrah I am fruit of the root…just a leaf on a chute In the brew of the brew…in the changing to new A moment of any…a drop of the many A fireflies light…a spark in the night. And I blink and I wink…and I wink and I blink. Yet I see not the core…or the gift of one more. And I think of never…in sums of forever. And I dare with a dare…building castles in air. I float in a dream…of wonder and seem And love with a love…that defies all above. I’m a fires renew…and a sip of the stew. A drop of a drop…the sweep of a mop A fraction of friction…a grain of depiction From the promising bree…of eternity Yet I feel what I feel…and my zeal turns to steel As my trod turns to nod…and my nod turns to God. As I turn into chyme…digested by time For I know I am toll…to the genesis goal. So I pray to a thought…with the promise of naught. Sending echoes in air…with the wind for its care |

Dear Sy I would never describe you as "a drop of a drop in the sweep of a mop" But rather a man with words that moves oceans A mind with the paower of cascading waterfall A spirit with the serenity of a mountain lake A refreshing drink in the middle of a desert A light April rain that will bring spring flowers to blossom. But even so, I liked the poem Liz |

we all are only here ... for a given time hours, days, years ... marked by chinging chimes "old" is nothing more ... than a state of mind the gift of time is measured ... by what you leave behind a legacy of wise ... words penned in truths of gold a spark in the dark ... a light to reveal secrets once untold love for thy rose of suppose ... a fathers pride etched in rhyme lessons learned, wisdom shared ... carves your name in sands of time never doubt sweet gifted man ... you have indeed left a lasting impress with the stroke of thy artists brush ... with thy words of poetic confess your grace engraved upon infinity ... guarantee of evermore ... whispered prayers upon the wind ... passage thru the promised door ************* L'Envoi by: Rudyard Kipling When Earth's last picture is painted and the tubes are twisted and dried, When the oldest colours have faded, and the youngest critic has died, We shall rest, and, faith, we shall need it -- lie down for an aeon or two, Till the Master of All Good Workmen shall put us to work anew! And those that were good shall be happy: they shall sit in a golden chair; They shall splash at a ten-league canvas with brushes of comets' hair; They shall find real saints to draw from -- Magdalene, Peter, and Paul; They shall work for an age at a sitting and never be tired at all! And only the Master shall praise us, and only the Master shall blame; And no one shall work for money, and no one shall work for fame, But each for the joy of the working, and each, in his separate star, Shall draw the Thing as he sees It for the God of Things as They Are! ********** *winkiewinkie* ![]() |

Tell Randy not to cry ... not one tear nor sigh I'll kiss his snout ... and dry his eyes Set the table ... tea for two then set another place ... for just for you We'll raise our cups ... toast we three with glee We'll write verses of poetry ... over raspberry tea We'll wink and drink ... and laugh till we cry We'll even let Randy free ... let him fly and kiss the sky Theres nothing I'd rather do ... than sip tea with the two of you ![]() *winkiewinkie* ![]() |

... and I still smile as I read his poetry. I wish I had known Seymour Tabin more than just the few words that we shared on the boards. I am happy that he lives on in poems such as this one. A |
