This is a response to a painting challenge. Papa’s comin’ home again! ‘member, in the dream, He had a big surprise! A wiggly, squiggly, squirmy, big surprise! I can hardly wait till they arrive! I just know he’ll have a big, big hug for each of us... And the surprise, well, it will be a wonderful friend, paper tearing, bedtime sharing, yipping, yapping, daytime napping cuddly bundle of fluff... then it’ll bring us sticks, do charming tricks, and curl up by the fire when the storms are raging and nighttime’s staging a ‘lectric light show for all Papa’s comin’, you just wait and see, that’s Papa comin’ from across the war-torn sea back to you and me! Let’s go out to meet him, last one there’s a rotten egg! © June 5, 2001 |
