        Guile in a Wile

While wondering through a field of words
I picked thee a bouquet.
I was guided by a flock of birds.
In mornings light display.

It's there I plucked some fertile turn
Just a sprite of humor.
A thistle of delicate fern
Green and early bloomer.

I added too some blue of dawn
And just a little pink
I wrapped it in the mist of morn
And set inside a wink.

I grant it is a wild bouquet
Was meant to bring a smile
I hope you take it as repay
And cherish it awhile.

Wet nurse it till it changes look
Then press it in a book.

A wild bouquet that only nature can offer is the very, very best....

this will be pressed among many poetic leaves of write....

so all will remember how poetry is meant to be written....

a wonderful wend, this....

===============================
Not only does thy bouquet bring a smile
it leaves a heart imprint lasting well beyond awhile
Poetic petals of thy sweet suppose
blooms of thy fertile mind where thou promise grows
a bouquet of rhymes speaking thy kind intend
no more treasured gift could thou send

unlike a flower ... thy words fragrance shall never perish
and like the poet ... this gift is one to forever cherish

I like this so very much, it tickles me all the way through!  My favorite, though there are MANY second favorites here, is the line about 'wondering through a field of words' that is so clever, it grabs the mind superbly, well this mind, anyway

Wild bouquets are some of the lovelist around.  I like the way the images just flow together in this one like a movie unfolding before my eyes.  Wonderful work, Sy.

I wrapped it in the mist of morn
And set inside a wink.

That must explain why it's staying fresh and beautiful and brightening my heart. *S* This is delightful, Seymour!
