Moonlight wonders embracing the day, if not for evening would I still stay? Daddy's face turns to stone, forever imprinting children unknown. Mystics smile but give bad news, for why not tell what's to lose? Mommy smacks when they act bad, then says "I'm sorry, I just got mad" Winter dances without a gown, knowing in spring it's time to drown. Children cry because they're here, forever riddled with other's fear. God is watching from some place bright, holding the moon, saying "it'll be all right" Until you are are near it, you will never see it, until you live it you will never know it...this is why we must not judge it. |

this is very soft and gentle. . . reminded me of a child's song. . . well done. . . ------------------------------------------------------------ To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

this speaks of pain in children of parents who are themselves still children incapable of thinking of needs outside themselves...how do I know? so many times it seemed just so of me when I didn't do things in a way I did not regret at least a little that's not always a giving in to the child being necessary, but that I couldn't be strong enough when it was really necessary to NOT give in...mixed signals/inconsistency...making it extremely difficult for the child, my child, to know the true expectations, and really how very much I truly cared, i.e. using 'tough love' when it was most needed. Wonderful poem expressing the child's point of view. |

you write this in a childs tone as for a bedtime story. I see alot of pain but am comforted by the end. I have not read much from you but that will now change |

LIW..Your words are so true..thank you sven...Thanks so much... I was trying for the child's song sound. VAS..very isightful response. We as parent need to remember that we were still have the child's perspective within us because we were once there. Thought of my parents and my best effort as a parent. Saunni..thanks so much for the kind words..did not intend it to be intese. But it had a life and voice of it's own. Jamesbowie, I am glad you saw hope at the end, all children should be told it's alright..I have an angel bear too! Latin passion. Thanks for the feedback. Interesting how many saw this as expressing the "tough love" when I meant to express that it is sometimes damaging to be too tough, sometimes, love needs to be soft love. Thanks so much for all your replies |
