The Lamb will be the Shepherd And the last will be the first The wanton finds true relief From a life of binding thirst So, what about a poet? Will his pen be laid to rest A gift of love from our God Of which our hearts are blessed This poet left his legacy In the touch he left on earth Each heart that blossomed by his words Shall come to praise his worth His gift to me was poetry I wish I’d known him well But when I see his works of art I can see there’s more to tell Painting pictures so serene With the pen he never dropped Our poet friend may have passed But his heart will never stop [This message has been edited by wayoutwalt (edited 07-07-2001).] |

superb walt. . . you have spoken very well of him. . . and I'm sure that when you do find him, he'll be the first to welcome you. . . ---------------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

very nice walt, and that is a so feeble set of words to use in response to the beauty of this piece, you have done well it makes me think of the title of a book I saw back in 1967, "Tears Are for the Living." That is surely so very true, for the tears are for those left behind and still waiting to be united with their eternity, their eternal joy I wondered what to think of his poetry last fall and this spring, when it seemed to focus going away. I think I only let myself think of moving somewhere else in this realm and wondered why he couldn't just hook up somewhere else and continuing blessing us with his poetry and his comments. Now I know what I apparently didn't allow myself to think. |

I can only respond with a sad "yuh" and I also saw his going away titles and felt them a bit scary. Go Mister Bill where you are, be cool sir! |

this was done with a touch of class. oh, and to the friends thing, youre already his friend, you should be able to feel it. you just cant see it til the heaven thing. i cant get enough of the following lines: His gift to me was poetry I wish I’d known him well But when I see his works of art I can see there’s more to tell very gentleman like |
