eyes open slowly
to discover the effect
of light playing with shadows
creating images
of smiles in floating clouds
and the splashing of green
on the land below

some bright spots are
all a soul needs
to turn away
the ghosts of the dark
and that is precisely
what the eyes
seek to see

it is ironic that
in a coloured world
we only see colours,
sometimes
when they are sprinkled
on the canvas
deep inside our hearts

thereafter all we wish is
to see the scenes
of eternal beauty
for as long as the eyes
can remain open
until that time when
eyes close slowly

!

Very interesting and very deep!  I enjoyed reading your perceptions of the world, seen from a different point of view.
Good job!

Such lovely imagery greets one in your phrasing.
Nicely put.

You see true with all that looking.  I really enjoyed this!

Always a treat to read your poems Sudhir,, this one is no exception.
