From out the west, comes gentle wind, ...air kissed with fragrant scent, Stolen from a distant bloom, ...wildflowers, by breezes sent. The soothing balm of vespertine, ...lays on the treeless plain, As forth the grassland's endless wave, ...comes meadowlark's refrain, Heralding the passing day, ...the coming of the night, Of Luna's rise, of sun's retreat, ...transfer of heaven's light. From blinding glare of Helios' rays, ...to touch of moonlight's glow, Transforms the vaulted firmament, ...transforms the earth below. Setting sun as folded light, ...calls to the earth imploring, Come with me into the night, ...to worlds unknown, exploring. From forth the dusk, resurgent moon, ...steals through night's rising mist, Ascending up to heaven's high, ...'mid realm of gods' exist, Whil'st laying bare to earth below, ...the gems of night's abyss, countless stars of welkin's glory, ...crown jewels of heaven's bliss, Behold the coming of the night, ...as soon day will be done, Behold the glory, vespertine, ...as night and day are one. Mike, How many ways are there to describe the dusk and the dawn? You have done it countless times in such exquisite terms and they just keep getting better This is so beautiful. The words melt in my eyes Liz |

wonderfully written with superb images and a flowing cadence that asks to be read over and over again. . . well done. . . ----------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |
