What god would plant a garden and seed it for all needs, to later choose discard in it harmful evil weeds? Whose riddle of a hex was it that opposites attract, belittled man with sex assuring life in the abstact? Who would believe creation starts us out with pristine souls, then aims us to damnation paying Eve and Adam's tolls? What shepherd, yes what herder waits nine months to make a mother, adds jealousy and murder pitting brother against brother? Who would populate a planet, what sort of patriarch, seeing water overran it save so few in an ark? Why would a father send a son we're to believe that he adores, to live among the tribes he shuns to prejudice, disease and wars? This carrot heaven a belief and fear the stick of hell, assuage our passage in relief for both is where we dwell. |

I think Someone who gives us free will would do this...we are given the paths in life...WE choose which ones to walk upon. Very thought provoking Richard. |

I am part of the "yo-yo" community of earth, and zip in and out on occasion! Opps, I must be human! Great work, and one that gets the reader thinking Richard, well done! If I made you smile today then I did my job! |

The kind of God who gave us free will...and the brain to decide...choice is one of the greatest gifts of all...I dont know that I have any of the answers to your questions...thats where Faith comes in to play... I have searched a long time looking at different beliefs...I always come back to this...I cannot look at the elegance of a rose, the simplicity of a leaf, the colours of a rainbow and believe they are the result of an explosion...I cant look into the wondering eyes of a child and believe that child is descended from an ape...Believe? Oh yes... |

we can answer them each for ourselves. . . if we can find them. . . well done. . . ---------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

I know you are not looking for answers, you've made up your mind already. I don't mind the questions it matters not what others think, only what I feel. You did a good job of putting it to rhyme. |

What god would plant a garden and seed it for all needs, to later choose discard in it harmful evil weeds? Without the weeds and flowers The sun to grow the seeds We could not know our wantings And recognise our needs Whose riddle of a hex was it that opposites attract, belittled man with sex assuring life in the abstact? Those of all so different May want what each has got So then through laws of nature Some love does stir the spot Who would believe creation starts us out with pristine souls, then aims us to damnation paying Eve and Adam's tolls? Souls of innocence when young To learn the road and way As the might of mating The soul does life obey What shepherd, yes what herder waits nine months to make a mother, adds jealousy and murder pitting brother against brother? To watch life continue on a world Be it good or other Within the genes of human beings Life needs the bearing mother Who would populate a planet, what sort of patriarch, seeing water overran it save so few in an ark? When frenum and the heathen sin Posses a planets core Someone with a hand of right Takes heed and says no more Why would a father send a son we're to believe that he adores, to live among the tribes he shuns to prejudice, disease and wars? The son may say, dad let me go To show the love we share The father with his loving heart Said show our love to everywhere This carrot heaven a belief and fear the stick of hell, assuage our passage in relief for both is where we dwell. Belief belongs to oneself Hell the place of holding Our time on earth the testing Its end the truth beholding |

Questions..always questions..( grinning) I won't even attempt to express my views on relgion here, I will say the poem does ask questions which the thinking person should find answers for inside and act on them as they best see their way... I am always encouraged when people ask WHY... it means we are not simply cattle following the herd..but seeking answers that are reasoned out by us..as best we can... thanks for sharing.... |

Like Ron, I believe this is a discussion for another forum. I WILL say, however, you can find the answers in the best selling book ever printed. Or send me an email, my friend, and we will discuss. |
