I looked for you, you weren’t there,
so I cast my heart on the wind bearing this prayer.
Asking to please come back to me,
join again for a walk through eternity.
Not to leave me out in the cold,
without a word of explanation told.

If I was wrong, I didn’t know,
all was meant was for love to grow.
But when I looked, you were gone,
and with the going, so was our song.
The melody vanished in the night,
with it, I have lost you from my sight.

I called, I sought, here and there,
all the places until I knew not where.
Only silence reaches out to me,
oh, let the wind take my message to thee.
Just a word is all I will seek,
if only you will again let us speak.

A lovely poem of longing Logan, which I really enjoyed, thank you.

If I made you smile today then I did my job!

What a plaintive song, Logan...it's coming through the cottonwood leaves in a hushed way...

beautiful...

A wonderful poem of loss, I felt as if there, I also missed the person who had left.

A fleeting heart knows not of love, knows not of truth or feeling, still finds a loving open heart who then for loss is healing.

Great work

Oh, Logan, this one aches.  Never easy when they go, but all we can do is leave the light on and hope that they return.  Gentle smile and hugs to you.

All writing comes
by the grace of God.

To leave is always a person's perogative; but to leave without "reason" is never a pleasant fact with which to deal...  This was heartfelt and speaks to my empathy, Logan.

Logan, sweetly plaintive, nicely done. Therein lies one of the hardest things, to me, not knowing the true reason.

Loss is always hard... and more so when we don't understand what went wrong, what we could have done differently. *S* You've written this heartache and longing very well!
