Up Creek w/Out Paddle

It was a dark and stormy night, when eyes
refused to close longer than a moment's inhale,
when imaginary sprites writhed, wings cooled;
a flushed forehead in reprieve.

When that within her eyesite were floating lines,
sporatic scrolls seen in the aftermath of lightening,
and dreams invade.

Seconds phase into fortnights, grazing sheep
turn to untame mares; thundering gallop shakes
her limbs under sheets no heavier than guaze.

She is unsettled, her heart pounding like an end
to the movie reel, film slapping the bulb in
staccato pulses. For her, sleep will evade the night
until the storm rolls north.

Music, tonal clear & pure,
Caresses the harshest of curves.

What an imagery-packed piece !
WOW ! I really enjoyed this !
Felt like the storm was right here !

I particularly enjoyed this line ...

Very nicely done,
but when you start with a dark and stormy night;
