The Ocean and Me

I watch the waves
rushing to the shore
My thoughts drift skyward
and begin to soar

The ocean crashes
upon the rocks
I take off my shoes
and then my socks

To aimlessly wander
along the beach
And listen to the seagulls
with their lonely screech

I dodge or run
from the biggest waves
The ocean laps at my toes
my soul is saved

I achieve a peace
A deep content
I know this was
a time well-spent

Wonderful write, Lisa. I have to say this one reminds me of the Christian song "Ocean" by Ten Shekel Shirt. Neat one!

I could sit at the beach for hours and have, watching the waves, feeding the gulls, or just painting. Thank you for bringing me back home, Lisa.
