If I added up the times of joy
I've had within my life
I know that they would far outweigh
This time of sadness rife

There was the time I gave birth
To my firstborn child
Despite the anguish and the pain
Her beauty drove me wild

Everyday beside her cot
I watched her while she slept
A smile hovering on my lips
As sweet memories were kept

There was a time of darkness
When they took my man away
But oh the joy when he returned
And promised then to stay

I remember sorrow
When my best friend died
But oh what bliss and rapture
As we beforehand laughed and cried

I remember wonder
As my grandson came along
And everyday I give thanks
That he's clever and he's strong

And does a smile play on my lips
When playing with my friends
You can bet it does, as I
Find friendship never ends

Sometimes without thinking
I forget my pain
I know it's part of grieving
So the sun can shine again

My life has been a journey
And I'm not yet done
My fifteen minutes are not up
I'll grasp loving and some fun

I guess what I am saying
As I cruise down happy street
That my life's made up of
Both white and darkest meat

My happy persona
Has not been stowed away
It's just I need some space and time
To cry my tears today

Enjoyed your "Fifteen Minutes ". We all need to remember when things look so bleak there are wonderful times in our life.

Kethry--There are many colors in the tapestry of life..each needs its own time...before it is complete.  I see much hope in your words.

Keth dearest heart sister, this is as always utterly utterly fabulous. I was going to write something wittily clever, but my brain has gone off a roaming and I'm not sure when it'll be back.

So In the meantime darling girl this is excellent.

How many of us really understand this?  More than you realize!

Well done, little one...
