~*~ The Courtship ~*~

~* Daybreak *~

No proclamation is given ~
No band playing a tune ~
No chorus to announce the arrival.

~* As day comes *~

Night flirts with daylight ~
Lifting her ebony gown ~
She bares her light blue legs.

~* The courtship begins *~

She tethers her long braid ~
Undoing her woven purple hair ~
As her vermilion nightgown falls.

~* Seductively *~

She collects her trinkets ~
Moons, stardust, and stars ~
She deposits into her compact.

~* And coyly *~

Daylight overcomes her now ~
Reaching into the fading darkness ~
He kisses her face.

~* Linked together in love *~

Daylight encircles her evening cloud ~
Drawing daylight over her head ~
She is gone!

~* Their courtship complete *~

Another dawning is here,
A union of sanctity,
And new day is born.

~* Rejoice *~

Mysteria~
So lovely your trinkets (one of my favorite words) ...

Sunlight breathes a sigh in breaking~
across the cerulean blue of sky
Rested from her indigo slumber
she dances gaily by
In yawn of dawn
she replaces trinkets of the night
And all the world is set aglow
with glory from her light

Seeeeeeeeee .... my muses just love it !
Little rascals got out their crayons !
Love ya', sweet poetess.

Melissa: I am so glad you enjoyed it, and thank you again for the Canada Day poem, it was really heartwarming.  I am taking it with me to read to everyone tonight by the way, so thank you!

Marge: Yup, that is what I meant to say, and you said it better, and much more colorful too.  That took a LOT of time to do that comment, so I want to thank you from the bottom of my little pea-picking heart!

Irish Rose: Oh, I so glad you like this one, thank you.

Trillium: A compliment from you is truly taken to this new little poetic person's heart, thank you so very much.

Wowzers!  Sharon...is there no scenario that you cannot place upon your canvas, and paint beautiful colors across the face of it...turning it into something so unique and lovely it simply takes our breath away?  Awesome, my friend...absolutely AWESOME!
Hugs and smiles to you, and much love, dawn

My Enchanted Melody...LOL, well I had to turn this insomnia into something!  I actually saw sunset and sunrise and it was a marriage made in heaven today so I fished out an old poem about the same scenario once before, glad you liked it.

Dawn...Nope!  Now, I may not be as good as some but my imagination well there is no stopping that little critter!  Thank you Texas Tea Rose!

If I have made you smile today, then I have done my job!    ~* Mysteria *~
