Actor

I’m an actor on everyone else’s stage
playing the parts they’ve written for me
But who is this man in the mirror?
Who is this stranger I see?
Your schizophrenic chameleon
changing costumes as the script changes me
His countenance looks familiar
but I’m unsure of his identity
I’m covered in makeup but still drowned out
by the spotlight interrogation of your colored lenses
So whose reflection is this person before me?
Is he my friend or my enemy?

he is whatever you make of him, my friend..    you decide..you get the luxury of choice...do you like him?  if no, then change him..he is yours to shape as you want him to be..but be true to him..and he will be true to you..

i know this feeling tho..lol  theres a song by joshua kadison..i think its called "here i am"...this reminds me of it..great song..you should see if you can find it..

great poem also    good to see you here!

hugs, g

no i...wont be afraid,

~Many a moments have I sat there in front of that mirror. Expressed well Rascalx, almost to a point where it hurts. Take care of you. *Peace.

Some great soul searching here....

"I’m covered in makeup but still drowned out
by the spotlight interrogation of your colored lenses
So whose reflection is this person before me?
Is he my friend or my enemy?"

Love the thought provoking questions!

JLR, Victoria,
     thank you!   Glad you enjoyed

deVine, ethome, VAS,
yes, these are interesting questions...wish I could find the answers! lol

gale,
oh to have your enthusiasm, my friend! lol When it comes to matters of the heart and soul, the choices aren't easy and the consequences complicated. Being "me" requires sacrifices I am not sure I am strong enough to make. But I am thankful for your support; glad you're there for me!

spitfire, interloper,
Wouldn't it be incredible if just once we could look into that mirror and see the "could be?"s and "would have been?"s
