I sing a song in poet's voice
Can you hear my words of praise
Songs of love and songs of hate
Endless nights and shortened days

I may not always sing on key
Nor find the chord you'll love
But my heart will try to sing
About what the world's made of

I sing the song of triumph
Of pure love over pure hate
And hope you hear the words
Hope the song isn't too late

Each verse will tell my story
In tones loud and clear
I'll sing until the poetic cops
Drag me out of here!

the poetic cops???

what an idea. . .

you have the right to speak in iambic pentameter
anything you say will be held against you in a court of critics
you have the right to a ghost writer
should you waive that right, cliches will be used in your defense
