An Apple A Day

Each day I take a fantasy pill
A placebo if you will.
For it stirs the wind and drives my ship
Gives me a resolute grip.

It out sails the mundane of my day
The ravages of our way
The rages that make my eyes to tear
Blood to curdle flesh to sear.

It soothes the storms the black of the blight
Lights a candle in the night.
And makes a garden of the forest
Turns me a geneticist.

Gives to me the wonder of control
Lightens the payment of toll.
Shows me the treasure of the rainbow
And the true white of the snow

All of this on a butterflies flight
Without the payment of wrong or right

Could you share a little of this with the rest of the world Sy. I think we all need a bit of YOUR perspective. Love this one!

Spoken as a "Walter Mitty" twin.  Enjoyed the read, moments of fantasy can be invigorating.

You are the apple of my eye
Your poetry makes this butterfly sigh
You're my spicy slice of winkie pie
To your garden of Eden I wish to fly

As long as you dream ... as long as you believe
You'll be my "apple a day" ... and I'll be your Eve

to read the why of your plea and ply
to sing the gift, receive the lift
to come and warm some cold within
is why I read you, again, and then

An apple a day
Might keep the doctor away
But not a day goes by
I don't long to read Sy! *S*

This is great, Seymour... I enjoyed it much!
