Whenever You Are Near

Fear resides in me, bends me
to it's wishes some days
and no one seems to understand.
I risk pain, and sorrow,
in the shape of loving, holding
onto moments invested,
fairytale feedings, walking
through clouds in my stroll
throughout my garden paradise.
I count the petals daily, that fall
from the roses, placing them
between pages of my life,
drying them as keepsakes of your love.
Each evening I mist them with moisture kisses,
allowing them the nourishment
to bring me joy come morning.
They deliver to me, a healing, a contentment,
a subsiding of fear for the time my eyes
can view their beauty. I pause to touch
their velvet softness and remember
the feel of you, when last we met.
You mean more to me than words can say,
although I try to leave you with
a sense of me to fill your eyes,
I never know if I succeed, I never know
if you know of the pleasure you bring me,
and how the fears release their hold,
whenever you are near.

~Wynter

I've seen your garden, it's as beautiful as your heart!

Ahh, Wynter, isn't that the price on loving? To risk the hurts of our soul? I hope your tenderness and feelings are appreciated...gentle smile

What a perfect ending to such a lovely poem, Wynter.  I much enjoyed.  Thank you for sharing this.
