This vessel I've been drafted to Captain, Abounds with a mutinous crew, To life's oceans we're constant adaptin' Quite a challenge for this retinue. My first mate, Utmost Confidence So steady on a level sea, On reflection slips to subsidence Realizing footing is so watery. There's Faith who serves as ballast, Below deck on bended knee, Till doubts shifting winds of malice Send most running to the lee. Ensign Positive contributes Easily on calm azure days, Yet dissolves when a gale distributes Tempestuous skies of gray. My Boatswain's name is Peace, I'd hoped to train ship's future keep, But hurricaines never cease, Their lashing threat depresses deep. Co-pilots, Determination, Sage, Seek to keep an even keel, On oceans whose emotions rage, With constant deluged new ordeals. We search the main for Love, A land we've heard teems of wonder, When we glimpse a possible sighting of, Thrown off course lanced lightning, thunder. This sea's a torrent brackish hell With sneaking, howling, whirlwind eddies, That land is shoreless, we'll never dwell, A rumor meant to keep us steady. This Helmsman's wearing down, Ages of rocking ebb and flow, How worse would be to drown? Chasm's abyss and bottom go. Where aft a shipwreck would we head, Were I to scuttle us areef? To wear a foamy shroud when dead, At times I feel would bring relief. |

Wow! I think this is truly impressive. I felt like I was right there meeting each crew member. I really enjoyed reading this one! |
