His shadow falls across my heart
Eclipsing  my strength
as tides of remember rise
bringing in all I  hoped
had washed up on the distant shores
of I forgot about you
forcing me once again
to walk the beaches
and carefully remove
each fragile shell of recollection
hoping this time
the waves of
I miss you so
Will wash his footprints
Away

I absolutely loved this from the first line.....I thought of shadow falls and waterfalls and the rush of sadness and oh, I just love it!

working those metaphors and poetic comparisons...
wraping the emotions in imagery and tieing it all up with a bow of sincerety...
beautiful reminisce Susan.
well conceived and written out.

I love the imagery in this piece.  You paint it so beautifully, why would you ever want to forget it?

This is fantastically said!  We do so often wish we could erase that which has caused us pain or loss...yet our memories serve an awesome purpose...to grow us wisdom...to grow us heart.
