Backlighting

The back of the storm circles the
edge
multi-strange-colors at nine
dusk comes in and out, quicksilvering
slim lightening threads off and out there
giant rumbles trembling slowly
this way, a backwash of what
could have been

yellowing golds backlighting
the underside of cottonwood’s leaves
grays on grey’s white yellow tinged pink
accumulations of formations

all is a strange other world

and I stand golden in its haze

azaleas and camellias come to
mind
another yard, a different state
a planting of promises that were
seen only once

we had dug deep in the postage stamp
yard to put fragrance of rose
and color of gladiola
into being

thin young trees planted for
someday’s voluptuous shade

memories now as backlit
as the back of the storm circling
the edge allows

Karilea~
This is really well done ...
I sense the storm's edge folding in on memories.

Karilea,  beautiful images. Loved it.
