Daytime enters my dwindling thoughts
if not to wake in me the truth,
colored now in comic hues,
betray me for a finer youth.

Purpose dances beyond a grasp
small fingers with a will,
as babies hands form fists of rage,
my truth will flourish still.

The rain sounds bleak against the noise
of clattering news and cartoons;
send the past with no regret,
away in a cloud of circus balloons.
