Such Stuttering words are these, that today, stumble drunkenly from mind to ear. Weaving as if they had spent Their time imbibing in the dregs Of some low tavern, Their path is crooked, And they vomit out With force that gives no true Relief to discomfort. Smelling of staleness, They avoid penance in favor Of common and base Companioned form Such words as these That slur meaning and can not Recount in cogent manner The journey undertaken When they were intended. Hateful words!! You harlots of gifted bard, Debasing the ones who would Serve you, leaving only the Bitter taste of bile on tongue And head held in hands Unable to quill. Begone!! I denounce you this day! Shadow not my door or Creep at night into my chambers! I will write No more. |

Have a bad night? Seriously....this is wonderful angst! You'd best not put your pen down, however, or a bunch of angry poets will be pounding on your door! [This message has been edited by Decaflame (edited 06-13-2001).] |

Oh from time to time I do quit writing... but the words always seduce into trying again after a while... this was written some time ago and in fact as a response to another poem that spoke of writers block and the frustrations. As for angry poets.... I would think them happy to have no more of my drivel posted about giving poetry a bad name... (chuckling) |
