when only three lines of inspired write visit my page,
you appear as the fire beneath these fingers,
the electric charge behind my lazy psyche,
the exterminator of reticence for my apprehension to the canvas...

you are the underlying rhythm of my rambling tongue,
an unruffled nucleus in this chaotic loop,
the subtle strait of sense to my drifting impatience,
the steady cadence for my erratically pulsating core...

when my receding dreams have lost their luster,
you are a rainbow of stimulation plastered across my sky,
the alleviation of a newborn day after a nightly siege,
the mind-blowing exhilaration of newly-awakened hope...

somehow, along the way, I have rolled into you,
the scorch of red searing my energy gone blue,
swift motivation behind my anxiously lost direction,
the tolerant recuperation of my lacking attention span...

I just opened up my eyes...you were staring straight back,
branding into my soul your name of integrity,
your relentless sense of stability opposite my shifting strength,
your butterfly aptitude to spark my interest in a brand new life...

-kh 06/11/01

I hopelessly, helplessly, wonder why
Everything gotta change around me
I’d tell it to your face,
But you lost your face along the way...

like I'm a little untrusting when I think that the truth is gonna hurt ya
