How foolish you think me You who once loved me so Did you honestly think I wouldn’t even know “The lipstick deception” You even gave it a name Don’t turn this around I am not to blame You got caught on your own Now pay for your crime I’m sure it’s a lesson You’ll remember some time Silly teen daughter Stay out of my make up bag And start cleaning the house Yeah, Mom is a drag! Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind... |

*Laughing!* I have a similar love for lipstick that started when I was a teen and has continued forever. Well done, azblond! Not only to say the right thing in the right place, but far more difficult, to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment. |

I must've killed more brain cells than I'd thought...I'm still not sure I 'get this'. But everyway I read it was absolutely enjoyed! |

That's what Moms have to do! But it makes them laugh! Me too! Good poem! |

When in high school one of my friends used to steal her Mom's lipstick and replace it with her own garrish colors and for fun called it the "lipstick deception"...ergo the title. I was thinking back about the day my own daughter may do this to me (hopefully in the far far future, she's only 7!) and here was the result! Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind... |
