Community Property Hey, wait…that’s my Fig tree. No, yours is the one in the corner. The one with no leaves? That’s what you’re leaving me? Fine, I will make it feel better. But isn’t that the coffee cup I gave you last Christmas still sitting on the shelf? I don’t think so, is it? I don’t drink coffee, anymore. Ok, I’ll keep it then…doesn’t take up much space. Goodbye, I will think of you. Please don’t feel you have to keep in touch. With the naked fig and the coffee cup I’ll have company enough. |

I can appreciate the facetiousness of your words here but even more so the left over emptiness.....good writing! |

Ouch, the stale loneliness . . . abandoned fig, in the corner empty cup, since Christmas no less and bitterness without the coffee . . . Well penned, JLR |

That empty feeling that only love can fill, I really understand this and feel for you. I read a great post from azblond- "remember love is not always ours to find, but it is ours to give". An it makes so much sense. I liked your poem, the set up was different. |

Been there done that...what good is a microwave stand without a microwave? Why have a TV is there's nothing to set in on? And what can you do with three bath towels and no wash cloth? I got it. And enjoyed it. |
