I'm not an insect person and spiders top that list Big eyes, hairy legs, body huge compared to the rest I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder And spiders give me the creeps especially as I get older However, I have seen the beauty in their web The work made with gossamer silk so fine, food to nab The design one of a kind? All connected to space And when the dew makes the web glow on the lace The sun light shines from behind to dry the droplets As all sway gently in the breeze and Ms Spider counts her catch Love and hate, good and bad, two sides to everything I've met a few spiders in my day, some distruction did bring Some just bide their time and kill with kindness A smile ever present so the end will be pleasent Others are quiet and you never know when the web will close But dead is dead and only the "what was" now hate, grows The beauty of the web made by the ugly spider The web to catch the watcher of beauty shine brighter The dew is all gone the sun no longer shines The spider has wrapped its catch in gossamer twine |

Yeah I know what you mean....good poem! I like these lines... "But dead is dead and only the "what was" now hate, grows The beauty of the web made by the ugly spider The web to catch the watcher of beauty shine brighter The dew is all gone the sun no longer shines The spider has wrapped its catch in gossamer twine" IP |

Hi Mother Earth, Wonderful poetry here, the title caught my eye and what a surprize to find a poem on spiders, I am having a real prob. with them right now tis the season, most of the ones I have don't spin any beautiful webs they live under stuff and jump out at me when I move something so I loved your poem and the beauty it captured, but a chill runs up my spine at the thought. Love, Cerenity "God doesn't have to be reminded that we exist. |

I agree totally. . . isn't it funny how that is? For every good, there is a bad. . . makes you wonder. . . which is what I'm doing. . . thank you. . . -------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

Watersign6, thanks BDC, thank you , my kid. I can handle the web, but the spider....no way. Cerenity, I know what you mean. I don't even like pictures of them. Thank you for the comments Sven, oh yes, I've thought of spray painting the webs in the corners of the house. Might work. VAS, beauty in the eye of the beholder. Thanks for reading |

MotherEarth~ This is artfully woven. There is beauty in the web ... it's just those critters that inhabit it that make my skin crawl also. Great job ! ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Boy, ain't that the truth! I feel "crawlly" after I see a web. I just know a critter is near by. Thanks and hugs, |
