Daddy said they don’t make no cowboys Like the ones we saw at the show They aren’t ropin’ and ridin’ off into the sun So “shush child, just let it go” But Daddy, he ain’t nothin special Heck, he starts his day tying a noose I seen him this mornin evenin the ends He don’t even tie it real loose My Daddy- he a corprate zek That means he’s too busy for me I bet we’d have time if he were a cowboy I bet we’d go ridin each week Daddy-he don’t talk about cowboys But that’s what I want to be I’ll win the lady with my big horse And ride her off into the sea Daddy don’t look so sad I didn’t mean it…you are the best Look-you’re almost a cowboy At least you get to wear a vest! Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind... |

Sad in a bittersweet way and indicative of the demands as well as the ideals we associate with certain times as well as certain professions.. enjoyed the read! |

Young daughters believe, and rightly so, that Daddies can be or do anything they want ... then they grow up |
