Just another teen-aged couple They were walking hand in hand. In his mind she was his woman, In her mind he was her man. They were sitting on a park bench- When she wrote upon his hand- The tender words, I love you- In his mind the world was grand. Slightly less than one year later- In his country’s uniform... His hopes were dashed forever, All their plans had died unborn... Not one thing about them special With their agonies and woes. This whole world is filled with problems, I guess that’s the way it goes. Later on, now in his twenties- He has met another girl... Who sees in him the things she’s dreamed of, Her young heart is all awhirl... But a heart once it’s been broken- Can never love the same, And no matter how a women tries- A wild wolf can’t be tamed. Now the years have flown so swiftly- And his youth has passed him by, The Grim Reaper closely stalks him, And he knows he soon will die. Thinking back on foolish choices- He would change them now, he knows- But you only go round once in life... I guess that’s the way it goes. |

Life is simple: you're born, you die. It's the stuff in between that tells you if it was worth the simplicity. SuBzeRo Gunslinger enjoyed the poem, as usual we tend to find wisdom only in hindsight. "difference between love and comfortis that comfort's more reliable and true |
