I finally stopped forgetting yesterdays and it came to me that you don't say you are sorry anymore. And I finally realized why I hung so dearly onto your apologies- they gave me reason to leave yesterdays unremembered. Time, ever on the side of forgetfulness eased growing babies and increasing bills into one school year after another. And now that it is long past those days when there was an us, I find myself traipsing once forgotten paths searching for the reasons for this troubled truce that we call a life. Daily I remind myself of the rewards and reasons and pray that in the end they will be enough to compensate for this wasteland I call my heart. |

No apologies, no forgiving, no forgetting... only going on because going on is what you do... but there isn't any compensation for turning a loving heart into a wasteland... You've written such sadness here! |
